Senior Design Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Reporting to Principal Engineer / Director / Qualified Persons
• Able to carry out bridge modelling for structural analysis and design independently.
• Able to carry out prestress design for bridge structures.
• Able to lead and coordinate with draftsman for structural detailing and drawing preparation.
• Liaise with checker engineers on the review and approval of design calculations and drawings
• Able to propose practical solution to contractors to overcome different types of site and construction matters related to bridge construction.
• Attending coordination and technical meetings with clients, consultant engineers and contractors independently.
• Liaise with clients and local authorities for projected related matters and requirements.

Job Requirement:

• Engineer candidate must possess at least a Bachelor degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 4-5 years of bridge work experience with strong knowledge of local construction practices.
• Understand various bridge construction methods, e.g. prestressed segmental box girders.
• Familiar with the temporary work design for the erection of prestressed segmental box girders.
• Familiar with bridge analysis and design software, eg MIDAS, STRAP, ADAPT-ABI, AUTODESK BRIDGE, ADSEC, etc
• Strong interpersonal, communication skills, responsible, self-motivated, enthusiastic, positive thinking and highly committed towards his/her assignment.

Structural Design Engineer

Responsibilities:

• To understand the design requirement/ concept from senior engineer/ superior
• To perform engineering calculation, design, detailing, coordination and implementation on the structural elements as per required code and practice
• To learn and study the design concept
• Coordinate with draughts person to ensure drawings are detailed as per design content
• To review and double check own design and detailing before tender for superior review
• Provide guidance to the fresh engineer for analysis, design and detailing
• Discuss and present to superior on the design and drawings & able to take lead for small scale projects
• Be proactive to come out proposal and solutions to superior and client-side engineer
• To discuss with superior to produce the design and drawings in order to meet delivery schedule

Job Requirement:

Project / Co-ordination Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor the assigned engineering projects
• Attend meetings and liaise closely with client/consultant as well as local authorities pertaining to the project
• Capability in dealing with clients, negotiation skill, communication skills, technical writing and English proficient.
• Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications
• Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel’s performance) and report regularly on project status
• Cooperate and communicate effectively with engineer and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support
• Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions
• Cooperating and communicating with Senior Engineers/Head of Department and other project participants to create more efficient project methods and to maintain the project’s profitability.

Draughtsperson

Responsibilities:

• To prepare details drawings based on the engineer/superior’s design intend/comments
• To draught and plan for structural drawings
• To prepare engineering drawings
• To keep track and manage documentation for structual drawings
• To update all the amendments and revision commented by engineers or superior
• To print the related drawings with correct pen setting (A3 or A1) for submission
• Stamp drawings to be endorsed by PE
• To co-ordinate with Admin Department in order to handover the drawings to clients if necessary.

Job Requirement:

• Skills in ZWCAD & AUTOCAD are essential
• Fresh graduates must possess at least Cert/Diploma in related field or at least 1-2 years working experience in related fields is required for this position for those who has no relevant academic cert/diploma in this field.
• Required language(s): English and Bahasa Malaysia while Mandarin is added advantage.

Resident Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer

Responsibilities:

To assist the Chief Resident Engineer in operating and administering the site office and be responsible for contract administration, site supervision, quality assurance and control, managing project and providing technical and management guidance to project team.

• To promote Organization’s image and services;
• To be responsible for public relation of the Organization;
• To plan construction discipline implementation strategy and procedures;
• To manage and administer human resources for the project site;
• To provide technical and management guidance and direction to the project team;
• To carry out investigation, collect site information, study and check construction drawings, resolve site problems; prepare progress reports, technical reports and other reports related to the project when required. To report any inaccuracies and discrepancies between the site and construction drawings to Chief Resident Engineer / Senior Resident Engineer / Project Director / Deputy Project Director / Project Manager;
• To liaise with external parties and relevant Authorities with regards to all technical and contractual matter on the project scope and discipline;
• To monitor the project schedule and introduce necessary measures of mitigation;
• To ensure smooth technical and construction interfacing;
• To review site design, calculations, drawings / shop drawings and reports submitted by the Contractor;
• To review, check and (if holder of a P.E.certificate) endorse as-built drawings;
• To review and comment contractor’s method statements;
• To supervise and check that all construction works are in compliance with construction drawings and specifications;
• To manage and administer the project including Professional Engineer (PE) endorsement, witness test certification, progress payment, as-built data, records and drawings;
• To evaluate the final work quantity and account progressively along with the finalization of the variation orders (if any).
• To check, verify as built information and drawings submitted by the Contractor
• To maintain site diary, construction records and submit monthly progress report on status of project;
• To ensure all time-sheet of site staff are endorsed by the client’s representative before returning them to the office;
• To promote, implement, adhere, maintain and improve the Organization’s Integrated Management System (IMS);
• To implement Quality Plans at work sites;
• To inspect, monitor and ensure that contractor and subcontractor comply with the applicable Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) requirements/local regulations at the construction site;
• To notify/report to the Chief Resident Engineer/ Senior Resident Engineer /Project Director/Deputy Project Director//Project Manage, client, contractor and subcontractor of any observed or reported HSE concern (such as non-compliance of HSE requirements, hazard, impact or accident/incident);
• To perform any other relevant tasks assigned from time to time

Authorities

• To advise client to issue stop work order for non-compliance of HSE matters;
• To approve any material or workmanship that is in accordance with the contract specification other than those stated in the SQP;
• To order rectification or demolition of defective work;
• To delegate work and assignments to subordinates.

Job Requirement:

• Candidate must possess at least Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil) or equivalent.
• Required language(s): Bahasa Malaysia, English
• At least 8-15 Year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.

Job Description:
